Min 911:a småläcker lite. Det kommer från vx-lådan och från motorn.
Det blir en otrevlig pöl under bilen. Uppskattar att det kommer några teskedar varje gång jag ställer bilen i garaget. Det verkar som om det bara läcker när motorn är varm.
Läckaget verkar komma från packningen mellan motorhalvorna och från packboxen där växelföraren går in i lådan. Jag har bytt packboxen en gång men det läcker fortfarande.
Nu funderar jag på att tillverka en plåt med uppvikta kanter som fångar upp oljan. Plåten fästes under motor och växellådan. När plåten blir full, kan jag tappa ur oljan. Detta får ses som en tillfällig lösning, tills jag har tid att dela motor och låda och byta packningarna. Med mitt tidsperspektiv, med två småbarna, kan det dröja några år... Nu har jag bara tid men kanske 100 mil per år.
Har någon tidigare tillverkat en sådan plåt? Bilder?

Rules: Extra oil tray
"Maybe you can use this one?" Grand daddy Thore heard the specs
on the extra engine tray so he offered one of his flower boxes. The
height was perfect - 5 cm - but the length was a little too short.

So I asked the welding company owner Micheal Hernwall to put
together a similar one. It should reach from front of the harmonic
balancer and to the mid-mount engine plate...
...but since I don't have that luxury of an extra engine mount on the
back of the engine I let it go even further an inch.
To get it up enough to keep it from hitting everything on the ground
it had to be form cut for the frame. When mounted on the races a
string of silicone will seal that area. Note that the rear brackets
are mounted to the frame.
While the front brackets are attached to the Crank Support tubes.
It's all mounted with M6.
Hopefully my dear Jeezus 396 stroker won't be needing this extra
tray but now we have at least followed the drag racing rules for
sub-10 second cars.
This is what we will use until engine is out. Then we get the
opportunity to cut away in the frame and make a better tray.
After placing the thick absorbant cloth in the tray it was time for a
gift from the fridge! Thanks Mikael Hernwall and those you got
into the welding! And Thanks Kent Edin for the bright idea.
